Dr. Craig A. Kaplan is the inventor of the designs and technologies that enable safe superintelligence. A pioneer in intelligent systems for more than four decades, he coauthored research with Nobel Laureate and Turing Award winner Dr. Herbert A. Simon.

Since 1993, Kaplan has led iQ Company, a consulting firm specializing in intelligent systems. His designs have powered major breakthroughs, including financial systems that achieved top performance on Wall Street and executed billions of dollars in trades.

In 2020, iQ Company focused entirely on developing safe architectures for AGI and superintelligence. By 2023, the company had created dozens of interoperable technologies that advance AI safety and lower p(doom). Recognizing the urgency of responsible adoption, these inventions were made freely available on Superintelligence.com, a domain Kaplan has owned since 2006.

In 2022, Kaplan launched iQ Studios, a YouTube channel dedicated to safe, democratic superintelligence. Through videos, interviews, and clear explainers, iQ Studios breaks down the ideas and designs behind aligned AGI and superintelligence for a broad audience.

This Substack extends that work, bringing Kaplan’s research and architectural thinking directly to researchers, policy makers, and anyone who wants to understand what safe superintelligence actually looks like in practice.
